As the end of my summer internship approaches (See my last Blog, Summer Camp Adventures), the beginning of my next adventure looms in the near future. In just a few short weeks, a new chapter of my life will be unfolding...
Back in January January 2014, Jon invited me to lunch with news to announce to me. As we were walking toward the Bagel place down the street from his Trailer in Suncoast, he asked me a simple question: "Do you ever dream of something different than your life here in Florida?" Sarcastically and without thinking, my response was, "Of course I do; I joke about dropping everything I have here and moving to California all the time."
I made it all the way to the entrance of the shop before realizing I was alone. I turned around to see him gawking back at me, hands my his side and jaw on the ground. Little to my knowledge, he had taken me there that day to tell me that he was moving to California, and wanted me to know.
Later in May, after much prayer and consideration, Jon and I bought a used 34-foot RV together, and began renovating it to accommodate more people and all the dogs. After gutting it, building bunks, carpeting the floors, painting the interior and replacing the damaged exterior, the RV is finally road-ready! It can house 6-8 people comfortably, with plenty of room for the 4 dogs and 3 puppies.
By the end of August, we will be on our journey (along with several other friends) across the United States headed from SW Florida to the Midwest. The end destination has been changed from California to Colorado, although Cali is still a checkpoint for along the journey.
